Spock nodded, not looking pleased. "Indeed I do."

"And he has reason to be annoyed, too," Rorek said, gesturing to Spock with a bit of a sympathetic smile. "You were, what - fifteen when we went there? And you were twice as mature as the other counselors, and that one guy...what was his name? Vincent Cryse...?"

"Cryte." Spock corrected.

"Yeah, I thought I'd met my match with him," Rorek said, pretending to be remembering his greatest competitor. "With the charms he was throwing at Spock, I didn't think I'd stand a chance. What do you think, Spock? Would have have proposed to you before camp was over if I hadn't accidentally taken him cliff-diving?"

"Seriously?" Rosie said, looking fascinated and excited. "And you were only fifteen, Mr. Spock?"

Spock nodded, taking another sip of his water. "He was quite persistent."

"Infatuated, I think, is the proper word for it," Rorek said casually, taking a bite of the apple that had been resting beside his plate.

"Did you nerve pinch him, Sama?" Schaven asked knowingly. "How did you scare him off?"

"I did not," Spock replied, looking at his son. "Your father did."

Rosie squealed. "Did you, Mr. Rorek? How?"

"I'd be sure to brag if I told you," Rorek said, a smug smile already on his face. "Spock, you tell the story. It's better to be short and to the point."

Spock raised an eyebrow at him before turning to the rest of them. "He took him cliff diving."

"Exactly," Rorek boasted.

"Excellent," Schaven said, looking delighted. "I'll do that to Ben Rockman next time we're at camp!"

"Or I'll do it," Rosie offered cheerfully. "I'm...uh...getting good at cliff-diving!"

"You're never going near a cliff again young lady," McCoy said sternly.

Rosie sighed. "Oh, Pa."

"Will we begin training here again tomorrow, Sama?" Schaven asked, picking up his fork again. "There are a few things I want to try in the simulator now. Will it be open?"

Spock nodded. "It will be."

"And can I try Level 9 this time? I know I can get past the scimtar now!"

"Level 8 to begin," Spock said, giving him a firm look. "If you go past your previous time, you may continue on."

Schaven narrowed his eyes. "I hate fighting that Klingon. The computer made his face completely incorrectly. It irritates me."

"Can I go in the simulator too, Pa?" Rosie asked quickly. "I want to try a scimtar!"

"No."

Spock looked at McCoy. "I would start her on a low level, Doctor, if you wish to ensure her safety."

"No." McCoy took another sip of his drink.
