The commander nodded, leaving the room.

Sybok watched him go, before glancing away again, back toward the PADD. Obviously displeased, he picked it up and shoved it aside again before sitting back in his chair. They weren't moving another inch into the quadrant until he heard from Spock himself what exactly the situation was with the U.S.S. Enterprise.

"Energize." Sybok said, without missing a beat.

A light shone in the space just behind him, and within a few seconds Spock was fully transported into his space. His blinked when it was complete, but he didn't look entirely taken off guard. "Sybok."

"Spock," Sybok turned toward him in his chair, gesturing for the younger Vulcan to sit in the chair across from him. "Welcome back."

"You know I do not approve of this." Spock replied, not moving. "You must return me immediately. I might be signaled."

"That is a shame," Sybok said, unmoving as well. "They will have to wait. I must speak with you."

"Speak, then."

Sybok eyed him for a moment, before he stood up, folding his hands behind his back as he stepped toward him. "You change every time I speak to you, Spock," he said after a moment. "Tell me. What has really been happening on that ship of yours?"

"Why are you so insistent on knowing?" Spock asked, watching him.

"Because I know that you leave out the whole truth when you send me your messages," Sybok said simply. "For instance, I can see already that you are bandaged on your left side. What caused that, little brother?"

"The prisoners escaped and I returned them to their cells." Spock replied. "One of them had a glass shard, it will heal in due time."

"I see," Sybok said, still staring at him. "I assume Lesh'ar was given leave to patch you up?"

"I am not denied care, Sybok."

"So you say," Sybok said, turning to pick up the data PADD that he'd read Spock's message on earlier. "Did your captain send you to deal with the Orion yourself?"

"I do not see how that is significant." Spock replied shortly.

"You are a fool, Spock," Sybok said, almost on top of his words. "Your captain would see you slaughtered before himself an in instant. Does your precious logic not see any fault in that at all?"

"It is the way things are." Spock replied.
